Harbor at Wild Dunes Golf Links
About
Wild Dunes Harbor Course, designed by Tom Fazio, is said to be cut from some of the prettiest real estate in South Carolina. Water makes up a great deal of the Harbor Course layout. After all, half the course runs along the world’s longest water hazard, The Intracoastal Waterway. Fazio claims the Harbor Course to be one of his favorites. "Working on the Harbor Course was very satisfying to me as a designer because we had to create everything. It was a very challenging, and ultimately, a very satisfying project."

Only looks good in pictures
For the money it’s terrible. Picturesque views. But freshly aerated greens, constant construction work, and no real clubhouse don’t make for a great time. The overpriced drinks from the beverage cart couldn’t even make up for the 30yard wide fairways.
Wild Dunes !!!!!!!!
What a great round ! Peeps at Course Awesome very informative ! Got windy on back Nine so it was two different 9 holes ! Views amazing worth the Money! Very forgiving in spots ! ( bring extra balls in case ! )
Great value in the Charleston area
Great course with fantastic views. Water is in play on almost every hole, the greens are extremely small which makes the approach shots a challenge. The course was in great shape, I would recommend this to anyone looking to play a round in the Charleston area.
A Good Time Again
Course was in good shape, weather was perfect and finished in less. Than four hours what more could you ask. Staff was friendly and helpful. Always like playing here and will do so again.
Harbor Dunes Rain Day
Staff very friendly and accommodating. Facilities are fairly clean albeit a bit dated and little tired. Surrounding environment/neighborhood is mixed with some well kept areas and others showing serious neglect. Playing surfaces in great condition for the most part. Layout of course is a bit convoluted as it intertwines through neighborhoods. The cart distances between some holes are quite long. Fairways are narrow by contemporary course standards. Overall a reasonably good course 6/10. Weather was a bit dicey so the crowds were not there. Pace of play was great in that regard. A little spendy for value.
Challenging in multiple ways
As the red-headed step-child to the resort’s Links Course, the Harbor Course is still a good challenge. It’s a very tight course with water/OB on nearly every hole. The greens are very, very small. And the winds can be brutal really affecting the ability to keep the ball in play. The course was in great shape and my playing partner made a hole-in-one on #13! That’s not something that happens every day.
The price is average for its quality and relative to nearby courses. But the most confounding part is the course layout and routing. To call it unique is an understatement. The course is squeezed between homes, The distance between 4 & 5 is at least a half a mile thru neighborhoods and across multiple streets. And the turn at 9 is no turn at all but at least two miles from the clubhouse.
Yet when you get past the crazy routing the Harbor Course is a good course worth playing with some memorable holes. The staff is friendly and they work to provide a good experience.
Love, Love this course
My husband and I come to Isle of Palms every December for a month. We love playing the Harbor course. It is a beautiful course and a "Thumbs Up" to the maintenance crew.
Enjoyed the Challenge
We played Harbor on a November Saturday with an early afternoon tee time. It was a challenging course with wind and water. With a 5:15 sunset looming, we were not able to get a full 18 holes in before dark. It was low tide so only a couple of cart paths were flooded forcing an inconvenience but nothing too troubling. The course staff was accommodating and gracious throughout the day. A narrow fairway layout with TINY greens created a challenge along with the steady winds coming off the ICW on almost every hole. Enjoyed the outing and we'll be back!
GREAT SHAPE
This course has some great views and is a pleasure to play. The course is in great shape; recently over-seeded, so the fairways are lush. The greens were in really good shape as well. Pace of play was very good.
