Oak Hills Golf Club
About
Oak Hills Golf Club sits near the state capital but it doesn't feel like it's located in a city. It has a peaceful and picturesque setting. The golf course rolls across gentle hills studded with oaks, pines, and beautiful dogwoods. Some of the greens are rather undulating and a few are elevated as well. Most holes are framed by trees or water. There are some challenging holes but the layout doesn't present anything too intimidating for beginners. The golf course finishes with one of its most memorable holes. From the elevated tee on this par 5, golfers will get a panoramic view of nine different holes.

Great golf course!
Beautiful open fairways. Enough difficult holes to test skills and enough easier holes to keep you enjoying the day!
Extreme windy conditions
The course was very wet from the rain storm two days previous And with the windy conditions Play tougher than before !
Nice Course
Nice course, played on a cold day. There was not a lot of people on course, but we loved that. The course was challenging and some beautiful holes. Only downfall was the cart paths a little beat up. Would love to play during normal season. Also ate lunch at the course and enjoyed.
Great Course
Oak Hill Golf Course offers a variety of challenges through its 18 hole course. The greens are firm but true and the local golfers are very welcoming to those new to the area. The course was crowded when played however it did not slow down the pace of play. The entire staff was friendly and supportive and the course is worth the value. I look forward to playing this challenging course again.
Great outing
Nice round of golf with pleasant weather for early February. Greens r fast and challenging yet fun!
Very Slow Greens
This is the second time I've played Oak Hill in the last 4 months. The course is wide open and generally fun to play. However on both trips the greens were very slow to the point of being annoying. As a side note the club does not allow blue jeans even during the winter season which I find extremely odd. I guess they are trying to cater to the khaki wearing weasel crowd & the Sansbelt polyester high hip crowd.
Great Day
The course is very well laid out and fun to play. I played the middle tees and the course didn't play too long or short. I will definitely try to play there again.
Excellent value
Great test of golf. Very few golfers on the day we played. Unusual for this course; but I loved every minute of it. Golf Now price can not be beat.
Great Course, Great Round
Weather was chilly and windy but the course was in great condition. Greens were really fast and rolled true.
Pretty Nice Course; Very friendly Staff
This is a pretty nice course, but I didn't love it. Tee boxes and fairways were in pretty good condition, greens were in fair condition. Water on a few holes, but really only in play on 2 or 3. Lots of bunkers, both fairway and greenside, although most of the fairway bunkers aren't really in play on most holes. 6,350 yards from the gold tees (2nd furthest tee box back), although it plays longer as many holes have the green on a higher elevation then the approach shot. The difficulty in the course is certainly the elevation changes and undulations. I didn't really love the course layout, my primary gripe is the undulations and uneven turf on the fairways. This lead to many if not most of my fairway shots having the ball significantly above or below your feet (or on a front/back slope), which made approach shots difficult. Maybe its because I am a novice golfer who doesn't get out to play that often, and maybe more experienced/better players enjoy this, but I personally do not like it as I felt like I was never rewarded after a good tee shot, and even the drives I thought I hit great often ended up with second shots on 20-30 degree slopes which made the approaches difficult.
One other note, which is minor but worth noting, the cart paths are awful! It doesn't affect the course/game play per se, but it sure makes for a bumpy ride!
On a positive note, the staff was very friendly. I was able to get out as a solo, which was great. Pace of play was average. Club house amenities were pretty nice for a public course. Weather was beautiful and its in a quite location not too far out from the city. Overall, I would recommend this course to a friend, but it wouldn't be my first choice to replay.
Hot day at Oak Hills
First time playing course and was pleasantly surprised. Staff was friendly and accommodating, first hole as a great start, and the routing thru the trees and hills was refreshing for someone from Florida. Plenty of holes played downhill. Would definitely play again. Price made this a great value.
One of the best in Columbia
I have lived in Columbia for 15 years and played Oak Hills hundreds of times. This is the absolute best shape this course has been in since I have lived in Columbia. The fairways and tee boxes are immaculate and the greens are in super-great shape. You WILL NOT find a better value in Columbia! Get out and play at Oak Hills today!
Need more water
When the day is hot some needs to make sure all the water coolers are full all day long. Or get a cart girls with some drinks and snacks on them
Oak Hills=Best golf in downtown Cola
This is my home course and it is amazing. Especially for the price; I rarely pay more than $20 to play 18 w/ a cart. My only complaint is that the bunkers are t screened properly and upon hitting out you will scuff the head of your club on a small to medium sized rock. Over awesome venue.
Player friendly course
Played many times and have always enjoyed this course. Not easy and not severe. Always fun to play. Greens in great shape. Fairways are always cut and very playable. Great for older and higher handicap golfers. You will enjoy. Have fun!
Great Course For the Price
Overall had a great round when my dad and I played here. Green's were quick and in very good shape. Course layout was very fair and had no gimicky holes. This course is decently open off the tee, but if you go too far one way you will be searching for your ball in the woods and will need to punch out. The clubhouse had a friendly staff, but was lacking hotdogs, sandwiches and other hot foods.
Good condition
Staff was very friendly including 19th hole. Course was in great shape, greens a little on the slow side but great shape. Noticed several new sodded areas and re-worked bunkers. Will be back soon.
April Oak
Good course, first cut shaved to close.
