Oak Hills Golf Club
About
Oak Hills Golf Club sits near the state capital but it doesn't feel like it's located in a city. It has a peaceful and picturesque setting. The golf course rolls across gentle hills studded with oaks, pines, and beautiful dogwoods. Some of the greens are rather undulating and a few are elevated as well. Most holes are framed by trees or water. There are some challenging holes but the layout doesn't present anything too intimidating for beginners. The golf course finishes with one of its most memorable holes. From the elevated tee on this par 5, golfers will get a panoramic view of nine different holes.

Best ever shape
Was a one time member and have played this course many times. It is in the best shape It has ever been in. Good layout with holes ranging from easy to hard. Making it to the top of conditions for courses in Columbia. Strongly suggest playing there.
Awesome Course!
Great course, great condition, great day! This is an excellent course, fairways, greens and layout are top notch. Not the most challenging course, but not easy either. Enjoyable!
Nice Layout - Wide Fairways but it can be tough
Most fairways were very generous off the tee and you could usually keep your ball in play. Big Bombers will have an easy trip around but the approach shots and the greens were a little tricky especially on the back nine.
Greens were good and overall condition of the golf course was very playable.
Poor match-up
This has never happened to me before: I got matched up with probably the worst two golfers in the world. Not only were they hacks, but they were totally ignorant of their poor and slow play. We finished the first nine holes just under 3 hours. I was ready to rent and pay for my own cart for the back nine, but fortunately, the twosome I got matched up with decided to go in for a beer (or two); so my riding companion (another GolfNow customer) and I could finally enjoy our game. What a waste! Oak Hills is a challenging layout and demands attention and smart play. I will return.
Great Shape
The layout is pretty wide on most of the holes with wide landing areas. The course was in really good shape and the staff was friendly. We both enjoyed playing this course and look forward to returning for our next play! If you have not played them then you need to call and make a tee time. Play golf America!!
Definitely Play Again
Course is in great condition, fast greens and great layout
Enjoayable Round
Six of us played the course. Nice pace, great condition, challenging. The par 3s were tough, but playable. The par 5s were tough - you need to be able to hit the ball a reasonable distance with accuracy.
Very Disappointed
I played this course for the third time on a weekend getaway with my wife. I did pay a cart fee so she could ride along with me. The prior two times the course was in great shape and the greens fee reasonable.
I booked an 11:27 tee time and upon arrival was moved up to 11:18 to play with a threesome which was fine. On the first green the threesome (three younger guys, I'm 57) made it perfectly clear they didn't want me playing with them. No problem I moved on . Then on the 11th tee I was approached by two cart barn attendants that accused me of driving my cart on or near the 17th green which I was nowhere near nor had I been. This went on for three or so minutes. I teed off on 11 but was so upset at that encounter I quit, voiced my concerns with the Pro Shop and left with a promise never to return. Very sad day.
Good course
Course was in really good condition. My playing partner and I were paired up with another twosome but that went well. Really enjoyed the layout and beauty of the course. Would come back again.
Nice course at a good price
I have played this course many times and it is always fun. Will play anytime my home course is full
Great venue, value
Hadn't played the course in 10 years but have now rediscovered this special gem and will surely play there as often as possible. Challenging but certainly fair and fun layout, superb staff and crew, and exceptional course conditions for this time of year. Wish I lived closer to the course...I would make Oak Hills my golf home.
Rugged terrain
Before I give you the positives, must say that these fairways and tee boxes are nearly as bad as it can be in Florida. They must water the fairways as little as possible. Sandy spotches and some weeds. Winter rules must be played.
The greens were in decent shape and the bunkers were in fair condition. The course layout is actually very interesting if you can look past the conditions.
