Pine Lakes Golf Club
They had very nice, upper end carts but the greens were a big disappointment in my round. Very slow and had tire tracks on most. The fairways were in pretty good condition but some of the tee boxes needed to be cut. The greens also had a lot of patches as well. Overall a decent course for the value, hopefully in prime golf season the greens are in better condition.
Practice for upcoming tournament
I'm retired now, but fortunately our company let's current & retirees play in company sponsored tournaments. I haven't played much since the pandemic started 2-1/2 years ago, none in the past 10 months.
Something new was the carts that cut off when you start to enter an area the course doesn't want you to be. You must back out the way you came in, and this happens with no warning or signs letting you know it going to happen if you continue. I'm not the golfer I used to be, and occasionally I had to venture towards the trees. I must have had to hit that reverse a dozen times.
Coarse was in great condition as far as fairways and greens, no bare spots or dirt unless you were 25 yards off fairways, there's the proof I know what I'm talking about with the carts! I'll be looking forward to our tournament next week.
It's a great way to spend your day with the wife, beats the mall! Don't forget to order that delicious bacon double cheeseburger on the turn. I gained those 3 lbs back I lost lookin' fer my golf balls.
Single players
Course is in good shape. Small greens and slope of greens make for a tough time on a short golf course. #16 is a beast, 220 uphill par 3 with a false front and 2 tier green with lots of slope. Recently bought new golf carts with built in GPS. Same exact carts they use at Cateechee. Greens are slower than most courses.
Great course!
Cart path could really use a redo and that was my only reason for the 4 stars vs the 5. It was so, so bumpy and even trying to drive around the big bumps/holes it was still really bumpy but other than that this course is great to play. Only took 3 of us about 3 hours to play so course plays quick.
Course just isn’t in good shape.
The Greens were okay but a little ling and pretty bumpy. There were a number of spots in the greens with large intentions. The tee boxes were full of weeds and crabgrass but it was mowed down. They were uneven but playable. The cart paths are not in good shape in many places around the course. For the price you pay there are MUCH better courses in the area that cost the same or less. Saluda Valley and Cobbs Glenn are both close and similar in price.
There are some interesting holes here for sure but for the money and amenities there are better options.
Great place for a quick round!
It was very simple to get started. Slower groups allowed play through and people followed etiquette. It was pretty nice, had some patches in the fairway and rough but nothing too bad. The greens were fairly receptive. (Much better than the past) I’d recommend for a quick round or just a fun day with the boys.
Carts are older and the cart paths need work. Otherwise great course
Nice layout but cart paths need to be redone.
The course lay out is great. Cart paths need to be redone completely. Price was great. People very friendly. Got me out ahead of my tee time in front of several 4somes. Not the longest course but you will use all your clubs. I had heard of this course some years ago and finally decided to give it a chance. The holes close to the lake give great views. I enjoyed the day. 16 th hole a par 3 is all you want.
First time at Pine Lakes
Great price and the staff were very friendly and welcoming.
