Drunken Wedding Party
Pace of Play - Actual rating ZERO out of Five stars.
Two groups of five (5) playing in front of us. The round took 5 hours, The group in front of us was known to the starter as “The Wedding Party”. Stone cold hammered drunks. All five of them. I doubt there was a single one of them that was less than a 26 handicap, yet, they felt the need to play from the back (blue tees). Two of them couldn’t even hit it past the ladies tees. With that said, numerous times they were hitting their second shots with their pants down around their ankles. (enjoy that visual image in your mind’s eye). We had a 1:44 tee time and finished in the dark! Enjoyed everything about the course and we will be back, however, we were very disappointed in the lack of enforcement by the ranger ( yes they have one on staff). The on board GPS kept telling us we were lagging behind pace on every hole beginning at hole #5, yet no one came out to see what the problem was …. 40 plus minuets behind in most cases. Hole #7 was RIDICULOUS! Music also blasting from their cart, Music was 80’s rock so not much of an issue, good tunes (LOL).
Beautifully Challenging
This is an absolutely beautiful course with some amazing views and some of the most challenging greens I have ever played on fun course but don't expect to score well on your first trip
Great Greens
Very nice layout in excellent condition. Greens rolled nice and true. Pace of play could be improved by not allowing walkers to lead off the morning.
Beautiful course in the hills of North Carolina
This course was very nice and although it rained off and on throughout the round the course stayed in excellent shape. The course was quite hilly which made for interesting and fun hole layouts. The property also had beautiful views of the mountains surrounding the course. The only negative was the pace of play was extremely slow but overall this was a very nice course and I would definitely recommend a round here.
Glad course is back open for season
Course is looking great for opening week. Fairways are very full and green. Tee boxes in great shape. Greens look recently punched so not the smoothest role but not bad by any stretch. Shortly they will be looking great as well though. They got new GPS carts that’s allow you to play music through them as well. Overall a great experience and looking forward to going back again.
Very nice course , relatively easy to walk
Greens 4.5/5 Nice bent grass, some very tough complexes
fairways 3.75/5
layout 4/5
traps unable to evaluate , as they had been covered for the winter. Day I played was Nov. 7, 20, and course scheduled to close for winter on Nov. 9.
This is a course in the mountains (~3500 ft), but isn't a mountain type course. I walked with an battery powered trolley with no problems.
Definitely, a course one would want to play again.
Slow But Beautiful Day!
Our first time at the course, staff was friendly but the scenery was the star today. Thank goodness it was nice to look at because we had a lot of time just to admire it. I believe the starter didn’t space us well and we ended up behind 2 foursomes that were hitting the ball everywhere but where they needed to. We finally called the clubhouse on #12 when we got 3
Groups deep waiting. Greens were absolutely laser fast and holes were perched at some is the most difficult spots I’ve ever seen. It’s a beautiful course, and we will return. Just need to be more on top of pace of play and staggering groups!
Great value and course is nice and holes have great variety.
Highly recommend. I am a 7 handicap and has plenty of challenge with large rolling greens. Would recommend for anyone looking to get out and play a fast round with nice Mountain View’s.
Challenging layout
The course was still wet from three days of heavy rain, which put all grasses longer than usual in the fairways, rough and greens. Greens held the approach shot well but were very slow, although rolling true. Streams came into play on most holes, making shot placement critical.
Fun, convenient, value
This course is convenient, well-maintained, has beautiful scenery all around; a good layout, and in great condition for this time of year (early fall). The staff are very cordial and accommodating, friendly, and efficient.
This was our first time to play anywhere in the area, and we’re very pleased with the whole experience. It was also recommended highly by a local we met, a member of the local private club, after we had made a teee time reservation, but before we played. It was good validation of that recommendation.
Tough on the Greens
Nice layout, but some of the greens were impossible to get close and if you had to putt downhill, you'd be lucky to stay on the green. Hole placements were unreal for a midweek day.
