The Heritage Club
About
The Heritage Club was built on a plot of fertile land along the beautiful Waccamaw River Trail. Over 600 acres of giant magnolias, 300-year-old oaks, fresh water lakes and marshes have been transformed into a golfing community that rivals the finest in the world. The Heritage Club reflects a unique landscape carved by the whims of the river. A magnificent avenue of oaks leads to the welcoming clubhouse overlooking the Waccamaw River.
Ranked among the “50 Best Public Courses in America” by Golf Digest, the Par 71 Heritage Club, a Dan Maples design, follows the natural contours of the land, stretching out beside long abandoned rice fields. The Heritage Club course features spacious, rolling fairways and large, undulating greens, surrounded by lush stands of crepe myrtle, camellias and azaleas. Heavily landscaped areas of wildflowers and flowering shrubs will maintain the beauty of this beautiful setting for generations to come.

First time
This was our first time playing this course. It’s a beautiful, friendly course but we played after a heavy rain with cart path only play. We look forward to returning when the course is drier!
Litchfield Vacation
Course was great. Because of recent rain it was cart path only. Greens good fairways great. Back nine was tougher. Fairly tight.
Great course!
The greens had been punched in the last week or two, they were still bumpy and had lots of sand on them. One of my favorite courses in the area just wish I would have known the greens had been punched recently.
Slowed on back nine.
Paired up with Members as a single. Very Nice people! Went through the History of the Plantation, showed me their homes. Beautiful area! Only downer when we made the turn back nine came to a halt. Even the members claimed the course was over booked. Love to play again!
Heritage Club
Nice layout and lots of variety in holes… course could use a bit of work on fairways and bunkers but overall very enjoyable. We played mid morning and pace of play was excellent, about 3.5?hours for 18… great alternative to the craziness of Myrtle Beach… lol
Best value in the area!
Love this course. As a former superintendent myself I’m always on the lookout for details and this club gets it right most of the time. They get a lot of rain via t-storms so don’t be surprised if it’s cart path only. The range and practice area situation is kind of annoying as it is shuttle only. I play here every year on vacation and if you get a chance you should play it. Great variety in layout. Amazing wildlife on display as well. Greens roll true and for Bermuda are quick and smooth. (I prefer bent). Great place!
Beautiful layout but not pretty to play
Beautiful area- nice fairways.
Bunkers so soft everything plugs- not fun
Greens have too many buried elephants making some play like Fantasy land putt putt. Bumpy greens so putting was an adventure
For most golfers a 185 yard par 3 into the wind over water isn’t enjoyable.
Disappointed
I played this golf course on Friday, April 23. The price, $45 w/cart, was right for our 1:18 pm tee time which began from the back 9. I was disappointed with the courses decision to drop it's lunch and drink specials but I understand the business decision which was made due to the pandemic. My real disappointment was the conditions of the course particularly the greens on the back 9. While the front greens were better the greens looked to be in disrepair and lacking the proper maintenance. I've played this tract just about everytime I visit Myrtle Beach dating back to early 2000s. This was probably the worst condition of my dozen or so visits to this top notch tract. Hopefully the conditions improve for my next visit. The silver lining is that it appears that golfers are beginning to return to Myrtle Beach as indicated by my late tee time which I made almost two weeks prior.
Beautiful place
What a great experience. The green fee includes breakfast, lunch, two drinks, and range balls. This is a world class facility. All the holes are unique. The staff is awesome, pure Southern hospitality. The starter gave me some awesome tips on how to play the course. This course was in my bucket list and it did not disappoint. Despite behind winter season, the course was lush and green. The putts rolled slow in the early morning but as the sun warmed up the greens, they started rolling pretty true. I was paired up with members of Heritage and they were super nice with this outsider. Despite my bad score this will be a memorable round that I won't forget. I will come back.
Good course conditions for December
Good course conditions for December, greens rolling nice and pretty quick.
Great Round with Added Entertainment
Played Heritage Club 18 holes after 5 pm...great pace of play..perfect weather ..beautiful course and landscape..large live oaks with spanish moss throughout gives course that good ole southern feel..historical plaques and cemeteries is a reminder of days from the past and our history..... 12th thru 14th along with 18th holes are water holes with nice view of water, gators and birds along with the beautiful surrounding homes ..the par 4 14th hole is rated number 1 handicap for good reason especialy from white or blue tees...I play hole as a par 5 ...VERY challenging undulating 2 tier greens ...fairways and tee boxes great shape...a homeowner on the 3rd hole carrying yard waste across the 3rd hole fairway and disposing it in the woods was quite comical and contributed to my round ending with a big smile on my face...I scored best round of my life after 50 yrs of playing the torturous brutal humbling game we all love !!!
Favorite course in Myrtle Beach area
Great layout, no 2 holes are alike. Greens were in great shape, large multi-level in many instances. Beautiful large
trees line the fairways and sometimes are in the fairways, some really great hole designs. Wasn't perfect but the entire course was in great shape. Staff helpful and they included bkfst sandwich and lunch with couple drink tickets with the golf, and the lunch was very good and the drafts good and cold on hot day. One of the most picturesque courses in the area.
