Grande Dunes' Resort Course ranks among the best in Myrtle Beach golf
The Resort Course at Grande Dunes in Myrtle Beach is the club's original golf course. It's part of the $20 billion resort and real estate development by Burroughs & Chapin.
As the name implies, the entire club takes on a grand scale as one of Myrtle Beach's most impressive, including its facilities and clubhouse. The golf course itself features a championship yardage of more than 7,500 yards, easily Myrtle Beach's longest. It was designed by Robert Trent Jones protege Roger Rulewich, who is credited for building, among other Jones designs, the RTJ Golf Trail in Alabama.
The most notable feature is the golf course's several holes playing along the Intracoastal Waterway, including a stretch from No. 8 through 10, then again on the 14th and 15th holes. The par-3 14th is easily one of the Grand Strand's most photogenic holes, playing to a green perched on bluffs over the waterway, where a steady stream of boats and ships pass by.
Grande Dunes also features the newer, private Members Club golf course.
