Cobblestone Park Golf Club - Black Course
About
Formerly known as the University Club, Cobblestone Park Golf Course may have changed names but it still offers one of the best courses in the Midlands. There are a total of 27 holes, which are divided into three distinct nines. The holes stretch across more than 240 acres of rolling hills. The Black nine is the longest of the three and naturally the most challenging as well. A variety of elevation changes come into play, ranging from subtle to dramatic. The golf course even features some of the highest points in Richland County, providing scenic views throughout your round. There are strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout and mature oaks and pines lining the fairways but the challenges are balanced by wide landing areas that are nice and inviting.

Course was in decent shape, greens were punched recently. The pace of play was terrible and no starter or marshal on the course. Great course but they need a starter and a cart selling drinks and food on course.
Who knew...
Should I find myself in the area again, I will definitely be returning. Unfortunately, while it is April, Spring is yet to arrive. It was cold and dreary. Nevertheless, I can see how later in the season, it will be amazing. Beautiful clubhouse and excellent customer service.
Enjoyable round with lots of challenges.
The staff was were friendly and helpful.
Two groups of four men all playing on the same hole followed us all day hitting blind shots over our heads
Very impolite and dangerous
No marshall on the course
Course is too expensive for what it has to offer at this time of year
Very disappointed
Spring golf
Interesting course. Winter transition had the fairways with fast roll. Greens and boxes growing in. Recommend for an in-route round from Asheville to Myrtle.
Nice course, but it has been better that this visit.
There was a board by first tee to let you know which pin location they were using that day. However, none of the carts had the map to show you where each pin location was referring to on the greens. Greens were very thin. Not much more than green dirt is several areas. Pace of play could have been better, but groups were just going off whenever they wanted to. No ranger/starter to ensure proper start which sets the tone for the entire rounds pace.
Perfection
Cobblestone is in excellent condition after a colder winter than normal.
Best course in Columbia
Always a pleasure to play at Cobblestone. It is always in the best condition of all courses I play in Columbia. Even in winter their greens are the best. Layout is very hilly with many doglegs. It’s a challenging course.
WOW superb golf course
This is the most beautiful layout I ever played, green in great condition,
Rainy at first however
Great course every time, played 4-5 times this year although 45-55 minutes away from my primary address. Course layout is exceptional, challenging elevation change for midlands course. Tee boxes and fairway were in excellent condition as were the greens ( fantastic ). One issue the snack bar was not open at the turn and no service cart, could have been the weather and lack of traffic that day ....45-50 degrees.
Tough but fun
Absolutely love this course. Visually beautiful, hilly, wooded and the best group of par 3's on one course I've ever seen. Each of the three nines has at least one island style par 3 set in water. Course can be long if you don't play from the right tee. I played from the senior tees (club) and it was fine. Cart path only due to overnight rain and that made for a 5 hour round. Normally pace is very good. One negative - no on course restroom that we were aware of. I've played all three nines now and there isn't one hole I would consider a poor design.
Cobblestone Park GC
Excellent course to play, never had an issue with pace of play until this past Saturday Oct.14, 2017. Seems the GC allowed a small tournament group 3-4 foursomes that slowed play considerably GARNET to BLACK.
Cobblestone
Like always, the golf course was great. Very well manicured. Staff excellent as well. One of the guys favorite, if not the favorite, golf course to play on there southern trip from Ohio no matter what time of year.
Cobblestone
Always enjoy it good condition friendly course just my game is not always that good
Good experience
Very good experience. The course was in very good shape and the greens ran true. The bunkers had good sand. The elevation changes made for neat challenge. Enjoyable day!
Always nice
Course is challenging and in good shape. Things slowed up on the black course and had to wait on 5-9. Pace on the golf course was great.
