The Carolinas PGA is proud to announce its 2003 Senior Player of the Year and Senior Amateur Player of the Year, Reid Schronce (Wilmington, N.C.) for the Senior Professional Player of the Year and Ronald Carpenter (Durham, NC) captured the Senior Amateur Player of the Year.
Schronce wrapped up the 2003 Carolinas PGA Senior Player of the Year award with a steady finish at the final event held at Prestwick Country Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C. tying for seventh place overall. Reid's performances all year long were as consistent and steady as anyone else competing in the field.
Schronce started the year off well with a victory not only in the Professional Division at the Carolinas PGA Fripp Island Senior Open held in March, but won the overall tournament title as well. Though that was Reid's only victory of the year he did not finish outside of the top ten in the Professional Division all season long Schronce also recorded two second place finishes during the year at the Yamaha Broadmoor Senior Open and the South Carolina National Senior Open.

Including Ronald's low Amateur victory, he also finished in the top ten seven times in eleven events.
The Carolinas PGA distributes points for each of its twelve events conducted during the year. Points are awarded to the top ten finishers and ties in the Professional and Amateur Divisions. Along with winning the prestigious title of Senior Professional Player of the Year Schronce will receive a $500 check for his efforts as well as a plaque.
Carpenter will receive a $500 gift certificate to his home club's golf shop and a plaque. Both gentlemen will be honored at the Carolinas PGA Awards Night being held in conjunction with the 11th Annual Carolinas PGA Merchandise show on Feb. 15, 2004.
