Travel Through Charleston
CHARLESTON, SC (JUNE 19, 2001) - The historic circa 1844 Planters Inn, located in the heart of Charleston, will treat guests to a time travel through one of the nation's most captivating destinations with the Three Days, Three Centuries (TDTC) package for the summer of 2001. Offering a 20% savings for couples and families on the cost of its components, the two-night, three-day package takes visitors on an exciting adventure through Charleston's vivid past and present.
On the first day of their stay, TDTC-ers travel back three centuries as they explore the world-renown Historic District of America's most beautifully preserved city by horse drawn carriage.
Having experienced the 18th century, they will fast forward to the 21st century with a visit to Charleston's newest attraction, the South Carolina Aquarium. Just a year old, the $70 million aquarium situated on Charleston's scenic harbor, is already considered the nation's leading aquatic research and educational institution. The cross-century expedition continues with a momentous voyage to the 19th century's Ft. Sumter.
Occupying an island in the middle of the Holy City's harbor, the site holds an indelible place in American history, as the starting site of the Civil War.

The antique accented residential ambiance, coupled with the courteous staff's amiable attention to detail, creates the illusion of staying in one of Charleston's great mansions - one with a nationally celebrated restaurant, Peninsula Grill, which earned its third "Best Restaurant" title in its four year history in the 2001 Charleston City Paper's Annual Best of Charleston Readers Poll.
The Inn's two buildings wrap around a captivating courtyard, distinguished by palm trees, partierres and fountains, which provides visitors a delightful oasis from the bustling downtown Charleston.
