The owners of this course, like so many before, could not makes ends meet and they closed the doors a couple of years ago. The course was eventually purchased by the residents of the gated community and will remain community land. The zoning was changed so it can not be developed into commercial property, and it is expected to remain community land forever forward. Drive a little farther towards Hilton Head and play the Hilton Head National Course. It is an excellent public course designed originally by Gary Player and redesigned by Bobby Weed.

Rose Hill Hill went out of business in January 2006. I would not recommend playing there.

as a homeowner here at rosehill, i have a vested interest in getting the course back on its' feet. i know a golf course owner/designer that is interested in a joint venture with the POA , and will get the course back in the best shape in its' history. close the east course for the poa to use as nature trails, etc.take the south and west , rework the greens , redesign the layout slightly , and we will truly have a gem.i believe in this plantation , and do not think some of the homeowners have gotten good information from some of the "nay sayers ".this is a shame , as our property values will NEVER come up to :par" until we give the golf course a chance. granted , there are some who do not play golf , but i do not ride horses . we support the stables, equestian area, etc , and EVERYONE needs to step up and make rosehill a great place to live !
