The Heritage Club
About
The Heritage Club was built on a plot of fertile land along the beautiful Waccamaw River Trail. Over 600 acres of giant magnolias, 300-year-old oaks, fresh water lakes and marshes have been transformed into a golfing community that rivals the finest in the world. The Heritage Club reflects a unique landscape carved by the whims of the river. A magnificent avenue of oaks leads to the welcoming clubhouse overlooking the Waccamaw River.
Ranked among the “50 Best Public Courses in America” by Golf Digest, the Par 71 Heritage Club, a Dan Maples design, follows the natural contours of the land, stretching out beside long abandoned rice fields. The Heritage Club course features spacious, rolling fairways and large, undulating greens, surrounded by lush stands of crepe myrtle, camellias and azaleas. Heavily landscaped areas of wildflowers and flowering shrubs will maintain the beauty of this beautiful setting for generations to come.

The Heritage Club
We played the course on Tuesday Oct 3rd.The greens on the front 9 are all covered in sand. It would have been nice if there was a heads up on the website or they told you when you checked in. The greens on the back 9 were in really good shape. The fairways on both the front and back were in excellent condition. The back 9 was fabulous and had great photo opportunities with the beautiful views. Watch out for the huge alligator which was another photo opportunity.
Hidden Gem
Great course. Some of the greens needed some TLC. The staff was outstanding from golf cart attendants, pro shop check in, to the staff at the restaurant. Great value with Breakfast, Lunch and drink included. We will come back.
Bummer!
We visit the area frequently and Heritage is one of my favorite courses. Not this time. The course overall was just okay. The greens on the back 9 were patchy and furry. Fairways were just ok. We even joked that the beautiful wildlife we’re accustomed to moved out.
Slooooowwww play
The course is good but we had a six hour round. Teed off after our reserved tee time. The ranger had the attitude of “that’s just how it is”
Atrocious Pace of Play
7 hours and 5 minutes to play 17 holes and then we gave up. Never seen anything like it. They claim it's because they had a group of 40 that had the course backed up. But, given the past reviews, I'm not buying it. Never again. An embarrassing waste of money.
Sad to Post- one of my Myrtle Beach Favourites in terrible condition
Heritage has been one of my favourites for years, and one I look forward to playing on each Buddies trip.
This year was different. 12 of us played it yesterday , booked as part of our Annual Buddies Trip months ago.
The layout is always a blast, but the greens this year were the worst I’ve ever played in April in Myrtle. Splotchy grass sections mixed in with large bare patches on many greens. Speeds inconsistent, & slow. No way to hold the line of a putt, as they’d also been recently aerated. April is prime season in Myrtle, so we had paid top $$$ to book our rounds. Hard to enjoy a round with greens so bad.
Anything over $50 is to much with the current conditions.
My suggestion is take a pass on Heritage until they get their greens fixed.
Sad to post this, as it’s among my Top 5 Personal list in the Myrtle Area.
Brooks
Cart trails bad need of paving and to many cart path only holes but all in all we had fun it was in good shape
Unbelievable value
The course was absolutely beautiful, the staff unbelievably friendly and the price fantastic. We checked in and found out that our booking included breakfast, lunch and 2 drinks.. what a surprise!
The course was in great shape however due to all the rain/cold we had to keep the carts on the cart path only. That made it a bit tough but we still managed to play in just over 4 hours. Would definitely recommend!
Slow play
Had an afternoon Tee Time. Was let out on hole 10 as a threesome only to find that groups ahead were playing a scramble. 3 plus hours for 9 holes! Luckily was able to blast through the front side getting in before dark. Very frustrating on both accounts.
Nice course
Great afternoon round. Course is in great shape. Pace of play was perfect
Pleasant and peaceful
Built on a historical plantation with mature foliage and nicely groomed greens. The staff was very friendly and attentive.
Beware
The course layout was great, however the greens were very spotty and extremely slow. The greens were some of the bumpiest greens I have ever played. For paying $125 a round I am very disappointed and will not return. DO NOT WAIST YOUR MONEY. There are much better courses in the area to play for the same amount.
5 decades
The course was beautiful and better than any of the 5 decades I've played it from out of state Tennessee. I was very impressed with the hospitality and evident care for the course in it's environment. Thanks for a great day!
