Tega Cay Golf Club - The Pines
About
Conveniently located just minutes from Charlotte and Rock Hill, Tega Cay Golf Club offers 27 holes of golf in a stunning setting. Surrounded by Lake Wylie, Tega Cay, which means "beautiful peninsula," in Polynesian, spans across a lush landscape of rolling hills blanketed with mature trees. Aside from the scenery, the club stands out for being the only 27-hole facility in the area. The holes are divided into three distinct nines, which can be played in different 18-hole combinations. The Grande View and the Pines are both longer and more challenging than the Cove nine, but the Pines is slightly more forgiving. The bunkering is modest but strategically placed and there are water hazards coming into play as well. There are some challenging holes throughout all of the golf courses at Tega Cay, but overall they are playable for all skill levels.

Good place to work on your game
The Cove Course is a great place to work on your game. The course is not nearly as nice as the other two at Tega Cay. It was nice because it is typically wide open out there and it Beats the range. Good course for amateure golfers to relax and play nine too.
Top Notch in The Carolinas
From the greeting in the Pro Shop by the Head Pro, Josh you feel welcome at Tega Cay. Couse Marshall checked to ensure we were enjoying course. Conditions and value are great. Bar staff very attentive with good food and drink deals. Don't miss this one.
Awesome Course!
Coming from the flat courses of the course, this was an awesome experience with all the hills. Made the course quite challenging but the course was in fantastic conditions and I have never played a course with greens in as good a condition as these greens were. The Driving Range had an awesome scenic view of the mountains with a huge drop for the landing area. I recommend this course to anyone who can get out there and play a great course for a fantastic rate.
This course is really good.
It's a really good course with great fairways and good green sizes. If you play as a single and want to be paired with someone don't hold your breath. I waited for 15 minutes and nobody. The tee boxes and greens was sunbaked like crazy but other than that a good place to play.
You can score well here
This course is a neat course. It's different. A lot of risk/reward shots. I don't usually like courses that take the driver out of your hands on most holes. But this is a fun one with the elevation changes. I belong to a nice country club in Charlotte and I was happy to play this course. It's tee boxes and patchy rough needs some work. But the greens rolled great. No complaints here.
Awesome Greens
Very tight course! You better be accurate and on point. The greens were the best I have seen them and it's a fun and challenging to play Tega Cay!
Poorly Managed Pace of Play
The pace of play here is horrible. We did not see one ranger and on average, people were hitting 2 to 3 shots off the tee and fairway. If you are going to pack the course with as many people as possible, make sure they are playing quickly and not finishing with a 5 hour 30 minute round, quitting after 15 holes. This is why the PGA is pushing to stop slow play.
Awesome course
Course was in excellent shape. Great value for the money
one of my favorites
challenging course, good condition, greens lightening fast but fair.
really nice staff.
First time player
Finally made it to TC! Really warm reception and very professional. Course was growing in and still played a little rough. Greens were like pool table tops. Balls bounced hard and long. Putts were bumpy and fast. Rolled mostly true. Bunkers in good shape. Routing was very interesting. Enjoyed the experience and the expense was a real deal!
Tega Cay Pines & Grande View
Excellent conditions. Greens are challanging but fair and roll great. Pace of play could be an issue but hot weather fast approaching could thin it out.
Great course but bring your A game
Tega Cay is a great course located just down I-77 from downtown Charlotte. It is well worth the drive however, as the course is in great shape and the staff is very accommodating. It is not a course meant for beginners however, as it is very narrow at some points. It is a challenging course but one of the best I have played in the greater Charlotte area. Enjoy your round at Tega Cay but throw some extra balls into your bag, just in case.
Tough greens, good course
Course was in good condition considering the weather the past few months. Greens are small and tough to read at times or i'm just not a good putter. Challenging enough but not overly difficult and good value at $45.
Great Fun!
This course has more interesting holes than any other course in the Charlotte area. Be ready for many challenges. Take plenty of golf balls!
great round
Greens are in very good shape for this time of year..pace of play and price was very good. Good times. Very challenging elevations. ..
Nice hidden gem
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this course for the amount of money I paid. It is nestled in the very nice Tega Cay community and was a quiet course. I'll start with the two things I did not particularly enjoy: 1) Two of the holes are kind of on an "island" if you will; not in the sense that they are surrounded by water, but in terms of how they are secluded from the rest of the course. I know they did their best to fit in an entire course amongst the houses, but it does feel a bit forced. 2) I did not care for the driving range AT ALL. You are essentially hitting into a valley, and although it was a unique experience, it does not help you get a feel for how you are hitting your clubs that day. It is strictly for getting loose.
That being said, I REALLY enjoyed the course. It had the perfect mix of "target golf" shots and holes where you could really let it fly.
I will definitely be back...can't wait to see what it looks like when the grass greens up.
great viata
I love the elevation changes. The view from the tees where great. Plenty of challenging holes.
Tega Cay Cove
The course was ok for winter conditions, but the greens were not taken care of as they should have been. The pace was extremely slow because there was no official delegating pace or tee times. Course was ok value for the price that you paid however, watch out for the homeowners and other pedestrians who feel as if they own the course and can walk through and ride bikes on.
Tough, but enjoyable
Course and facilities are well above average, course layout is challenging but fun.
FANTASTIC COURSE
Do yourself a favor and play Tega Cay. One of the most scenic and exciting rounds of golf you will find on the east coast.
