Panos Hotels packages golf with hospitality

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Jan. 15, 2003) -- "Silver bell service" is what founder Greg Panos has strived for ever since he opened his first hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1985. Almost two decades later, his company -- Panos Hotels -- has successfully opened 12 hotels in the greater Charlotte area.

Along with top-notch service and amenities, Panos Hotels offers exclusive stay-and-play golf packages with a selection of nine courses as far north as Birkdale Golf Club and as far south as Charlotte Golf Links. The Eagle Package is the premier package offered by Panos and is $99 per player, $109 on weekends. This package includes double occupancy at any hotel and tee times at any participating course. Replays are also available at a reduced rate through the Eagle package. Discounted rates in the fall go as low as $69.

Panos Hotels aren't limited to the small group golf trips. With custom-made packages for parties and corporations, the hotel group has been a favorite for corporations. Seventy percent of Panos Hotels' guests are business travelers.

With Panos Hotels' table of hotels ranging from economic chains such as Comfort Inn and Hampton to the high-end Hilton property located adjacent to the Hampton Inn in Uptown Charlotte, the goal is still the same: treat each guest like family. After years of satisfying Charlotte visitors, Greater Charlotte Biz magazine dubbed Panos, "Mr. Hospitality."

"The traveler doesn't like to stay in a hotel on the side of the road anymore," said Greg Panos on hotel's Web site. "They want their hotel to be a part of a total development."
