Lumber River State Park

Canoeing possible on 115 miles of Lumber River; water current is about 1-2mph; no rapids; some hazards. At least 2 dozen launch points. Park rangers advise wearing lifevests and leaving itinerary with someone. Park also offers fishing, primitive camping and opportunities for viewing wildlife such as deer, wood ducks and otters.
