Falcon Review
Fun course in a beautiful setting. Somewhat target golf but enjoyable to play
Windsor
Course in a lot better shape with new ownership.
Clearing a lot of land on course to make it more open.
The Tavern had a very good club sandwich and house chips were above average.
The only complaint I had was whoever cut the greens scalped quite a few throughout the course.
Course was relatively difficult as it is "tight" with landing areas to avoid trouble on some holes. Greens were in outstanding condition. Beautiful course. Staff was very friendly.
Course is in great shape
Had a group in front of us that was obviously very new to the game. Extremely slow and wouldn’t let us play through. Other than that, this is the best I’ve ever seen this course look. They’re obviously put lots of work into the course and it’s paying off.
Can't wait to play again
I am not normally one to leave a review, but I really wanted to for this course. I was really impressed with the course overall, a good mix of fun and challenging holes. The Fairway was in great shape and I enjoyed the speed of the greens. This course is perfectly set up for my style of play. There are some upgrades going on, but still worth playing. I will certainly be heading back to this course again!
Great Course with great staff to help you!
Really enjoyed every minute on this challenging golf course
A beautiful jewel and the edge of the mountains
The improvements are constantly happening, this is a beautiful and challenging course for anyone! This staff here is fantastic, and will go overboard to help you! Being former military, and playing with my service dog, the hospitality was even more special! It is well worth the drive from Atlanta to play this course, and I will certainly be back!
Great Value
I became a member about 9 months ago. They have put a lot of money into the course. The course is very fair, and allows you to use about every club in the bag. The staff is very friendly. Chase, MJ and Garrett are great guys. The greens are in great condition. There's not a lot of sand that comes into play, and water only comes into play on 2, 8, 10, and 16. I certainly recommend giving this course a shot if you haven't played here before, or if it's been a year since you've played there. I play in Atlanta, and pay more than double for an equal "valued" course.
Value and challenge
You can’t beat the value. The course was in good conditions and the greens were really good. The course was really fun and challenging. You had to think about a shot. The staff was really friendly. We had a early tee time and the course had a frost delay. They offered us range balls while we waited. The grill has really good food. I would definitely recommend.
Cool course
Tight course. Clearly being invested in. Staff was great, fun layout and just lay up on #2! Looking forward to coming back again
Difficult.
By far the most difficult course I've played. Lots of bendy undulation. Greens are perfect! But so so small. Smallest greens I've ever seen. Needed to play with a member to get guidance of layouts. Front side is so difficult. Back side eases just because you can see your targets. You will know if you miss in the wrong place or you pull the wrong club. White o\b stakes can get ya too so be aware. Par 3 on the front that plays 240 if the flag is in the front, 252 middle and about 270 back. Big boy par 3. Not sure the yardage from the up tees but this was a difficult track from the back.
Members......
Caught up to a foresome on the second hole. Horrible golfers with NO etiquette. Carts everywhere, wouldn't even acknowledge a single behind them. The course was solid.
Great place to play - fun course
First time at this course, was joined by a single who knew the course on the 7th hole or so, and that helped a lot.
The course was in very good shape, including the greens. My only complaint about the greens were they were a little slow - mostly - a few were noticeably faster.
The layout is very good, a mix of close in mountain holes and more wide open (but still with terrain to deal with). Again, local knowledge helped with many blind shots.
The par 3s and par 5s are varied in length and difficulty, which is nice.
Overall it was totally worth the 45 minute drive from Sapphire NC where it was 10 degrees colder and $30 more expensive to play the one public course.
