The 18-hole Heathland Course at Legends Golf Complex in Myrtle Beach, SC is a public golf course that opened in 1990. Most of the holes have no trees on them, providing a visual presentation like no other course around. The challenge and difficulty of this course comes primarily from the unobstructed breeze, strategically placed bunkers and the lush deep rough, rather than from boundries of trees. Some of the greens at Heathland are huge, presenting an interesting dilemma to players who hit their shots on the wrong portion of the green. Some of the greenside bunkers are deep and require well-played shots to escape.
