Situated along the banks of Lake Marion, Wyboo Plantation in Santee is part of an upscale, gated community. The lake merges with a canal that leads to Lake Moultrie. The Player Course is routed through the different neighborhoods and it is joined by the Wyboo Golf Club in the adjacent community of Deercreek Plantation. The 18-hole golf course stretches to just over 6,900 yards from the back tees. It is a great course for long hitters but it also forces golfers to employ creative strategies on each hole. The layout is tight in some spots and thanks to the interconnected lakes, water hazards come into play on several holes. It is a golf course that will make you think but at the same time it is playable for a range of different skill levels.

Decent course for the money

I actually booked this course by accident. I was planning on playing the other Wyboo course that's across the street. Overall in decent condition for this time of year. No particularly long holes. The one thing that I always remember about this course is the smell of chicken manure (chicken houses) on the back nine.

Weather was cold and windy. Played the white tees. Good variability of hole design. On balance I'd say it was a "shot makers" course, i.e. helps if you can shape drives around a few dog legs, not too long and you cannot spray the ball and get away with it. Fairways and greens were in good condition, especially considering it was the dead of winter. I'd definitely play it again...except when it's warmer!

THE COURSE IS FUN

I enjoyed playing the course, but I wish they would have blown the leafs from around the greens and fairways

Well Maintained

I found the Players Course at Wyboo to be a very nice course that has either been well maintained or hasn't had a lot of rounds played on it this year. The staff were very nice and the pace of play was above average compared to a weekend round in Charleston.

Very forgiving and long moderate challenges

Would recommend for all levels. The tee box views to the greens are easy to read and follow

Wanted to play here a while

Heard several good things about this course. I think my expectations were a little too high. I enjoyed the course but would not drive here from Charleston again specifically to play this course. Course was in good shape. Fairways were good. Greens were a little spotty.

not as good as the memory

played here on vacation around 10 years ago. Still a nice friendly layout, but the greens were bad. Not only top dressed, but very rough and bumpy. Lot of airation in SC this time of year, but this was beyond normal. The Wyboo Plantation course across the street is way superior. Easy course, but lacking in some respects.

Enjoy this course

I like the way the course is laid out and the way the greens putt. Cold water and portojohns at the right places. I have played here many times and I just like the course.

Great value

It was our first time playing this course. The staff was very friendly and the prices in the pro shop and restaurant were extremely reasonable. The course is moderately difficult. we played from the tips 6900+ with a slope of 127. The course was easy to get around from hole to hole. The course is fairly well maintained and the greens rolled true. The course has a lot of doglegs however it only has 8 bunkers. All in all the course is a great deal for the money and we will be glad to go back again in the future.

Manageable hazards

Water and traps were manageable, since fortunately, I avoided both. Early tee time not normally crowded, and I enjoy course layout. Couple of par 5s are long for me even from senior tees.

Course in good shape; greens rolled true

Challenging course from the tips. Holes were interesting, have the opportunity to make quite a few birdies. However if you hit ball in the wrong place you will make bogey or worse. Staff was really friendly, pace of play was great. I highly recommend the course.

This course has great variety

This is truly a players course. Nothing fancy about the club house its just about the golf. Everything is laid out for convenience with close proximity. Lots of holes have risk/reward features to go low but you can go high if not careful. Good practice facility as well. Watch out with early tee times. Lots of golf package guys flood the course at times.

This course is great for the player who likes to drive great distances.

My husband, son, myself and a friend played this course for the 4th time recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. The couse was in great shape, and it wasn't crowded, so we were able to really take our time and enjoy ourselves. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We will definately play here again. The whole Golf Now experience was excellent, we recieved terrific rates and it was easy to do online. Thanks for the website.
