Diamondback Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Diamondback Golf Course (previously known as Diamond Back at Woodland Valley Country Club) in Loris, SC is a Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda golf course that opened in 1999. Diamondback Golf Course was designed by Russell Breeden. The greens are Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda and the fairways are bermuda.
This modern Russell Breeden design is surrounded by unspoiled natural wetlands and lowcountry forest. Diamondback Golf Course is the first course on the Grand Strand to offer Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda greens. Strategically placed bunkers and lakes allow for a challenging round of golf that will make you return year after year

Nice Layout!
The gentleman at the desk was grumpy. I think he didn't like that I went thru Golf Now app.
Donny the starter was very nice.
Couse was in pretty good condition for January. Wet due to some rain the previous night.
Cart was slow and the paths need work.
Nice course layout thou.
Not sure I would go back but definitely worth the rate.
Awesome
I thought this place was awesome the only bad thing is the bugs so make sure you bring bug spray!! Other then that absolutely awesome course and will be back for sure!
Spring Break
This was a fun course. Forgiving off the tee, but not easy by any means. Greens were in great shape and rewarded good putts. Fairways and tee boxes were really good too, even with all the recent rain. Only complaint…It’s not very long. A local I played with pointed out that they’ve let nature take back most of the back tees. If you play the back, it’s really the white on the scorecard. Still a great hidden gem I’d love to play frequently.
This course is not for beginners
Let me start by saying, I’ma scratch golfer. I really really enjoyed this course. I picked this course as a warm up for the upcoming week. Little did I know, this course is a beast. Lots of forced carriers off the tree, water and tight tree lined. The layout is fun and demanding. The greens are slow but have to be with the undulation. Doing get me started on the Value. I paid $40…FORTY DOLLARS. That is ridiculously cheap for this golf course. Play it. Enjoy it. Bring it.
Disrespectful staff
When I arrived the starter ignored my group and we had to unload our bags. When he came back I asked when we were going out. He said that we would have to wait until he loaded us on the cart and then walked away again. There were not any other groups on site. We were 10 minutes before our scheduled tee time. He then explained that because we with golf now he would not send us early even though no one was on site. I then went inside to use the restroom. The person manning the desk was standing outside and heard the conversation. Before I could say anything he rudely explained that because we were golf now we would have to wait. He explained that we paid golf now and not him so we had to wait. Understandable ,but the tone and loudness of his voice in front of other patrons was uncalled for. He didn’t seem to be fond of his arrangements with golf now.

Good value
Had a great time. It is winter so u expect a little roughness with the course. I am looking forward to playing there again
Hidden gem
Your not going to get carts with gps, but a great course and friendly staff. They make you feel welcome no matter what your level of play. I played only 9 holes but was impressed with the course and condition considering it was early December. Very secluded, real nice, makes you feel like your the only group out there. Lots of water and dense forest off fairways, bring extra balls. So if you want to get away from the crowds and high prices of the grand strand courses, try DiamondBack it won’t disappoint, can’t wait to go back.
There were a lot of water holes. Pace of play was great. We only played 9 holes.
Constantly improving
I have review this course a few times over the years. We generally play in April and November. The course fell on hard times a few years ago but has steadily been improving and yesterday was very enjoyable. The entire course was great . Tees fairways and greens were in great shape. Now compared to a premium course maybe not but gor the money this is a great tract to play.
