Great value for the money
Crown Park is a course that has drawn me back to play each of these last two years while vacationing in Myrtle Beach. The staff are more than friendly and made me feel welcome as I’m usually on my own. The course provides enough variation and challenge for my golf game and I always feel good after my game regardless of how I played. For me it’s a must play ech year and I most likely will play once more before the end of my current vacation.
Nice but so slow
Need to space the groups at least 12 minutes apart. 5 1/2 hours is excruciating.
Nice course a bit outside Myrtle Beach
Course conditions were pretty good the staff was very friendly.. Several holes required some finesse off the tee - you can't always grip it and rip it. The course was full, but pace of play was pretty good. I definitely will be playing here again.
Good Value and fast greens.
Friendly staff, fast greens, worth the trip from Myrtle Beach to play. Had Sunday pin placements. Overall, very nice and will play again if I am in the area.
We loved this course.
We absolutely loved this course. Lots of trees and absolutely beautiful scenery. Great low prices for beer and a really friendly staff.
Hidden gem that has been found
It used to be that playing crown park was usually a quiet day. Not any more! Looks like , along with housing development, the courses along rt 9 outside of north myrtle beach have been found. Even with a good crowd play moved along pretty well. I have always enjoyed the course layout with a variety of holes. I look forward to playing there when we visit in fall and spring.
Fast greens, water in 16 holes! Would have liked to play it again.
Good Course: Challenging Greens
Good course layout. Greens are in great shape but extremely challenging and tough pin placements. Fairways were ok but thin on turf and if you hit a ball near the edges it almost always bounced into the pine straw. Would try it again if the price was right.
Mixed
I’ll simply say the #1 thing I can’t stand on a golf course is slow play! 5 hours to play this course was torture. This is the only reason for the 3 rating.
I enjoyed the challenge of the course and the back nine is pretty, and the price is terrific in today’s world.
So, going to give this another shot and hope this slow play was an aberration!
Crown park
I've always enjoyed playing Crown Park whenever I'm in the area. This last time seemed like they overbooked. The course was crowded and slow.5 hour round.
