Holly Hill Golf Course is a nine-hole course that is ideal for beginners but it is also a fun, quick round for more advanced players. The par-36 layout measures out to just over 3,000 yards. It is a very player-friendly layout that beginners who are not ready for a full-length course can approach with ease. There are subtle but tricky contours as well as a few strategically placed bunkers that will give you some practice with course management. While it is not the most challenging round you will find in this area of South Carolina, Holly Hill Golf Course provides a great, quick round for when you have a bit of extra time and the affordable rates and excellent maintenance appeal to all players regardless of skill level.

Love this course and the staff!
Great course but staff could use an attitude adjustment
From the moment we walked in the pro shop we were harassed since we booked our reservation through golf now. They claimed they don't make any money. One lady on the staff is very nice and have never had a problem. Beware if you book a tee time and the "not so nice lady" is working. Nice easy course but staff should show a better attitude.
Very pleasant surprise
I was a little suspicious when I saw the $9 price tag, but as soon as I arrived I realized I found a gem. Despite a recent review I found bashing the condition of the course, my experience was great. The course was well manicured, the greens were just fine, and while it lacks many elements, the course provides a lot of shade on a hot summer day. My only interaction with the staff was the lady at the desk who was very polite. I would absolutely play here again. The value simply cannot be beat.
Nice course for seniors!
Took my father in law (80 years old) to play. He has been ill for a few months. We enjoyed our round very much. Greens and Fairways in good condition. Played 9 holes and had 3 birdies!
Small Town Gem
Nice atmosphere....mostly laid back. Some of the regulars can be a little pushy and want to play through. Good course for learning the game and taking your time to perfect your game. Holes are challenging but not too hard. Play it as much as I can so I can transfer my skills to a more challenging course eventually. Food is goo and staff is very friendly.
Change of Pace
We found this course on GolfNow...having stopped at Sante SC and golfed the main courses we thought we would try a more "local" course...Holly Hill was built in 1957 by local residents..Now privately owned the course caters to the local 110 members and walk-ins.It is early in the year and a lot of rainfall came the night before we played, which may be why the fairways were uncut. Greens were PoaAnna , well kept, roll true.Other golfers on the course were friendly as were the staff at the pro shop and eating area.Great prices all around.
great
Great for the money. Really enjoyed my round. Course is in pretty good shape and the greens are a lot better than they were the last time I played. Good food at the clubhouse and good prices.
Great Place To Play
Love playing this course. Not too easy but not too hard either. Right mix for a beginner/intermediate player. I have been playing golf for two months now so I go more for getting practice as a beginner. For 18 holes I usually hit from the yellows on front 9 and the whites on the back 9. Staff is friendly and the food is great. A great way to spend the day.
Great 9-hole Course
This is a nine hole course in very good shape. Can be a little backed up on #1/10 when you make the turn to replay. Greens were top notch. Fairways a little on the hard ground condition but certainly playable. Otherwise a fun and well maintained public course.
play it again & again
This is a very nice course well kept. I'm just getting
back to my old form this course is perfect if you are just learning or if you are very good.
Nice little course
I enjoy playing practice rounds at Holly Hill. It is simple for me to get too, straight up highway 176. It is only a nine hole course so you tee off from the Whites to play the front and blues to give you different distances and looks for the back. It The price is reasonable and it has a few holes that make you think about your shots. The only detractor if I had to put one are the extremely slow greens. It can be difficult to putt because you can never get your ball to the whole when you are use to playing fast greens like Berkeley CC. As a spot to work on your swing and shot making for a good price though I will keep going back.
Nine Holes And A Sandwich
Great little course, very clean, great staff, and best Chicken Salad sandwich this side of the Mississippi.
Holly Hill is a Great little course
I've played at Holly Hill quite a bit. It's better now than it ever has been. The owners are doing a great job fixing it up. The overall course is in great shape and the greens are getting there. The new driving range will be finished soon. It's the best 9 hole course that I've found!
Holly Hill GC is worth the drive!
A wonderful experience. I was a little unsure about having to play 18 holes with making the turn back to 1 (9 hole course), but it was a breeze. Course was in very nice shape. Greens are could be better but with the steepness and curves the water has a hard time staying on edges. Staff was great and food after the round was a pleasant surprise. Will definitely go back. They are working very hard to improve the course. Looks like they are building a driving range am possibly making room for more holes. Not a very long course, a great beginner or senior course but you will have fun at all levels. A+
Fun, Friendly, Frugal, and Fast
Holly Hill is a nice little golf course in the countryside northwest of Charleston, SC. The staff is all very friendly, and we spoke with the course owner several times during the day. He directed us to start on the 4th hole to avoid some slower traffic, and he came around later in the day to see how our round was going. The women's tees are set up at a fair length. The par 4's were all reachable with irons.
We played in just under 3 1/2 hours on a busy Saturday morning, which was refreshing. Afterward, we had a very nice lunch in the clubhouse.
For the price ($20 each) it was both good fun and good value. Nothing else needed.
Nice for 9 holes
This was the first time I played this course and i was impressed. I didnt realize when i booked it that it was only 9 holes, but it was nice. Only downfall was that the greens had just been airrated and made putting harder, but it would be better in a couple weeks. ill go back
Great value play
Great place to play for a beginner. Wide fairways, not possible to lose many balls.
Staff is begrudging towards golfnow purchasers. Attendant insisted it was $18 for 18 holes when the reservation clearly stated $9 for all you can play deal.
On it's way back
For years I would not play this course and then it closed down. New owner who is working hard to make this 9 hole course a gem. Sand traps were excellent. Fairways were in good shape and green could use some work they make for small targets.
I really enjoyed this course. It's great for starters and enjoyable for the average handicap player. Fairways are wide but if you wonder off them you'll need some skill to recover as pine trees are old and big.
Holly Hill CC
Considering this course was closed for quite some time and now reopened I was fairly impressed. There's still some needed work to do but you can see staff working diligently on making these improvements.
For a 9 hole course I found it somewhat challenging with open fairways and minimal hazards. If you are a beginner or intermediate golfer this place is worth the money! I'm looking forward to going back to play.
Great nine hole country course.
Really nice course in the country, well maintained and not crowded. Had a great time and will recommend it to my friends.
