Willow Creek Golf Course
About
Situated between Greenville and Spartanburg, Willow Creek Golf Course is a favorite course amongst many area players. The course has a classic layout that starts out gently with a player-friendly front nine but then becomes much more challenging on the back nine. The layout is a seemingly mild 6,890 yards from the back tees but it can feel longer because of all the elevation changes you'll encounter. It's a golf course that will appeal to beginners but advanced players will also enjoy the many risk-reward opportunities that can be found throughout. Water hazards come into play on eight holes and there is a slew of strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The par-5 fifth hole is Willow Creek Golf Course's signature. This 516-yard hole tumbles across rolling hills with a stream that cuts right through the fairway.

Great shape all around the course.
Very well keep it, greens are in excellent condition.
Nice course
Been here several times and it is a very nice course and a good value. Gets a little overcrowded at times and the greens are very tough to read.
Extremely SLOW play, Hilly Tees, Inconsistent Greens
This course is famous for its extremely slow play… Count on 2.5 hours for nine holes and five hours for an 18 hole round, even a little longer than that on Saturday and Sunday. The tee boxes at this course are absolutely ridiculously unlevel and hilly. They haven’t top dressed these tee boxes in decades much less in years. It would only take topdressing the tee boxes a quarter of half inch per week to get them leveled out in one growing season with fairly minimal costs. The owner puts as little as money as possible into this course. The Bermuda turf is very nice and lush. The Bermuda greens are very inconsistent, most likely due to their lack of rolling the greens regularly. Of course they mow them daily during the growing season but they never follow up and double roll them to make the putting surfaces smoother and more consistent. another issue is that they do not start teetimes until 8 AM in the summer then they space them out only eight minutes apart putting the groups too close together. They should start TeeTimes at 7 AM since it is daylight at 6 AM and they could have the greenskeeping team come in a little earlier and get started a little earlier to get the golf going earlier in the morning. If they spaced out the tee times 10 minutes apart, and started at 7 AM, they could gain an additional 24 possible teetimes sold, garnering them a conservative number of an extra $100,000 per year, by selling 24 players tee times in the 7am hour May-September each year.
This course could really be spectacular with faster pace of play, level tee boxes and more consistent greens
Communicate Tee Time Changes yo your customers
Reserved an 8:08am tee time on 5/23 for 5/30, week in advance
Arrived at course at 7:40am to be informed our tee time had been moved to 8:32am after a group shotgun at 8:30am on the back 9
This was done to 4 groups who had tee times before the group shot gun
When asked why we were not going off the front, mgr with starter was a little short saying we know how to do these things
We were then also placed behind the last of the shot gun groups on the back
After. 3hr and 10min first 9
Had to call it a day
Staff was a little short about issuing a rain check
I’ve been playing this course for years, but the condition of the traps and areas around the greens makes me question current mgmt of the course
Becoming a regular
The more I play this course, the more I like it. Fairways and greens are in great shape. Friendly starters.
Bad customer service.
Extremely disappointed. Booked an early tee time a week in advance. Showed up with group only to learn that there was a member shotgun start. Tee time was delayed by 1.5 hours, took 3 hours to play 9 holes. At the turn had to sit an additional 30 minutes to wait. Simply put, course is in great shape, but poor customer service. I could not in good faith recommend this course to anyone because of the attitude of the staff in the pro shop. They have absolutely no clue about customer service, and southern hospitality.
