Good Value

For winter/early spring, course was in good shape. Greens were fast and challenging. Fairways were good but had not recovered from winter.

Good Value and Course Conditions Improving

I played this course initially back in October and it was in shabby shape but the cooler weather seems to have improved the greens. The course is fair overall but don't play it when it is wet out. The course does not drain well. If it is dry and sunny out- you will have a good round.

Course OK, Pace of play was horrendous

There was a twosome that held up the entire course. Almost 5 hrs for a twosome to play. No rangers to help out. Course was typical dormant conditions.

Skybrook is challenging

Skybrook is a fun and challenging course to play. Most tees are elevated which give you a sense of power and potentially longer tee shots. The greens are large and undulated making approach shots critical to avoid 3 or 4 putting. Green speeds are fairly quick and above the hole is trouble, if you miss you will have a very long return. The closing holes 16-18 are very strong holes. Golfnow coupons can make this a good deal to play.

Skybrook Is On The Way Back Up.

I haven't played Skybrook in some time due to the IRI issues. I had heard good things about the conditions since the Casper Group took over, so we decided to give it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised. The desk staff was super friendly. The course itself was in pretty good shape. The tees were in decent shape. The fairways were good shape, and the rough was pretty thick. The greens were really nice. We played early in the morning, and they were already pretty fast. I think the course will continue to get better as more attention is paid to it.

Has a ways to go to get back where is was

Skybrook needs to make a recovery. The layout is tough enough but with 3" rough and leaves to battle made for a slow round. If the greens get the attention to heal and they can get back to what they were I would be worth a trip

Better off under new management

I play this course often and it is in much better shape than it has been over the past year. Sure there are some spots in a few greens but overall it is evident that the new management company is doing their best to keep the course in good condition. There are weeds in the fairway and rough but let's be honest for $29 on a Sunday afternoon, you really can't get too snobby.

good layout with sub par green conditions

A great layout with that seems to be neglected. Lots of weeds, greens wit many bad spots. They don't even put any water in the ball washers. Shouldn't charge more than $20 to play this rough-shod semi-private course.

What Happened?

Upon having children 6 years ago I haven't had the time to play nearly as much golf as I used to. When a friend coming thru town last Tuesday suggested we go play while he was in town I was excited to book a time at one of my old favorite courses, Skybrook, which I had not played in at least 3-4 years. If nothing else, back in the day, you could always count on them having the best greens in town. Well, the greens weren't awful (they weren't great either) but my goodness what happened to the rest of the course?? It's like they let go of 80% of the grounds crew. Really saddened me to see so many disheveled and sand-less bunkers and rough that was rapidly approaching mostly crabgrass status. The fairways weren't hideous but there were plenty of weeds to be found out there as well.

I really hope they're working on these things and that this isn't the "new normal".
