Lake Marion Golf Course
About
Lake Marion Golf Course is situated in the heart of Santee, one of the East Coast's premier golfing destinations. The course is routed through a series of lakes and mature pine forests. Trees border the fairways and there are 47 strategically placed bunkers lurking beside the greens. Water also comes into play on a few holes. The gently rolling terrain provides elevated greens and subtle but tricky contours. The winding layout also has a few doglegs that can be hard to navigate. Don't let the challenges fool you though, the golf course is player friendly enough for beginners to approach with confidence. It is a favorite amongst both locals and visitors not only for the extremely playable layout but also the well conditioned greens that putt fast and true all year long.

Good course layout. with GPS.
Nice course in pretty good shape. Greens looked good. The GPS in the carts certainly aided in playing a better round by giving distances to the greens and hazards, which in turn sped up the pace of play.
Course in great shape
Great course we play it every time we go to Santee.
Interesting holes, lots of water hazzards on the front 9, fun to play
Played the course twice (Saturday & Monday). Saturday play was very slow, waiting several minutes on every shot. The ranger tried to speed up play but perhaps the problem was overbooking tee times. Pace of play on Monday was much better. The course was in good condition for this time of year and will play there again when we are in the area.
Nice layout for the casual or scratch golfer. Very minimal blindspot holes. Nice grass cover for february!
Very enjoyable experience, staff was cordial & freindly. Great deals in the ProShop. Will visit this course again!
Nice course
Played early February 2013 and the for this time of the year is was in great shape
Great Place to Play
This a challenging course from any tee box. It is well maintained with over seeding in place for the winter months. Nice to see GREEN grass while playing. I need to play it again when the wind isn't gusting 30+ mph! I'd play there again anytime.
Probably the best in Santee
Great golf course with great pro shop and snack bar. Greens and fairways overseeded with Rye grass. so lush fairways with nice greens that are slightly on the slow side but fairly smooth. I have played all the courses in santee and lake marion an santee national are my 2 favorites. recommend this course year round. but hard to beat the 80 degree day we had in january
Course was in excellent condition and the staff very friendly
I am 69 and have only been playing golf for one and a half years. You need to keep that in mind when reading my review. With that said, Lake Marion Golf Course has become one of my favorite courses because of the condition, cleanliness, attitude of the staff and the overall value.
The coarse is fun to play because of the elevation changes.
Great coarse design. The greens are in very good condition. Challenging locations to land you tee shots.
Great for all levels of play
I think this is a great course. Very well maintaned. Grass very thin on greens. But it is December. I played early morning. The greens were hard to judge speed. I think due to watering. Some of the greens held the water more than others. Making them a little inconsistant.
course is in great shape
great course. greens and fairways really good shape. wish more people would fill their divots to keep it in such good shape. Lazy i guess. take 3 friends wont be sorry.
Great value and good course to play
Course are in good shape, proshop are very friendly!
Great Course!!!
Played this course on 9-11-13. Fairways and greens were in excelent conditions. Course has a great lay-out for the mid-handicapper. I liked the elevation changes and the large greens(which rolled pretty quick). The GPS on the cart was great it showed the hole layout and all yardages to greens and hazards. I will put this course down as a must play on any return trip to Santee, If you havent played it Go Play!!!!
