Golf Club At Wescott Plantation - Burn Kill Course
About
The Golf Club at Westcott Plantation is a 27-hole course that is situated within one of the area's oldest plantations. The beauty of the Lowcountry is evident throughout the golf course with centuries-old oak trees framing all the layouts and lush vegetation along every hole. The names of the courses: Oak Forest, Burn Kill, and Black Robin, all have origins in the plantation's history. Burn Kill is tighter off the tees than Oak Forest, but more generous than Black Robin. The golf course has a classic bunkering style and there are streams, ponds, and wetlands interspersed throughout for added challenge. The 8th hole is one of the most unique holes of the entire course. On this par 3, the black and blue tees attack the green from a completely different angle than the white, green, and red.

Don’t play here
This was the slowest round of golf I’ve ever experienced in my life. No rangers helping with pace of play. It took 3 hours to play the front nine and only played a few holes on the back nine and left the course. We would have been out there for six hours otherwise. Absolutely terrible experience and a waste of money
Turtles pace
Course was in very good shape overall. Pace was awful 5:15 for 18. At the turn we mentioned to the starter how bunched up everything was getting out there. They said they would send someone around. Some drove around but drove right by the two groups thar were absolutely killing pace of play. Course is just outside my neighborhood are rarely play there because this seems to be an ongoing issue.
Nice course but needs some attention to details.
As mentioned by a previous reviewer there is no drinking water on the course. They do have beverage cart but only saw it once during a nearly 6 hour round. If they have marshalls they were no where to be seen, which caused the aforementioned 6 hour round. Granted, cart path only played a factor but the foursome 1 hole ahead needed some serious prodding.
Under appreciated course in the lowcountry

Clubhouse
A very nice golf course but the clubhouse closes at 3 pm and it needs attention. Why not make it a sports bar with food, drinks and memorabilia???
Wonderful back 9
My group played this nine holes as our back nine. In my opinion, I suppose the superior of the kid with a very engaging, layout and conditions that were equal to if not better than the front nine on the burn kill course. Very engaging and beautiful par threes, and long challenging par fives. Pace of play on this course was significantly better, but there was still some stopping and waiting. Once again, the most important improvement that I would suggest would be drinking water on the course.
Front 9
From the opening, he shot to the ninth green, this golf course did not disappoint. The conditions were top notch, all of the greens rolled very nicely with a good pace, and the fairways were nice and lush. The bunkers were full of nice, white soft Stan, and we’re very playable. There is no drinking water on the course which would be my largest complaint. Normally, this wouldn’t be a concern as they have a cart girl but with there being three separate nine hole courses, we only saw the cart girl once during a round. We did have the unfortunate lack of having a group of beginning golfers in front of us, which slowed us down drastically. Overall, I was very impressed with this course, especially for the GolfNow price I paid.
Very fair
Very fair layout. Fairways in good shape with fair rough. Greens recently aerated, but sanded so put still reasonably smooth. Torrential rain interrupted round but course had great drainage. Clubhouse was nice and had a good selection of food and drinks. Overall, it was a good day…except for the rain. :-)
Great Course for the Money
I played Burn Kill/Black Robin nines and was very happy with the overall course condition. The one drawback was that the greens had been recently punched and putted very slow. I really like the layout of all three nines. For the price, it is a nice course that plays at a reasonable pace. Our group was able to finish 18 holes in 3.5 hours on a Saturday afternoon.
Wescott
Upon arriving ng and confirming check in; the balance quoted was $15-$20 difference than listed on this site. The staff claim there was was an aerification of n going that I was unaware. For the most part the course was in excellent condition. The biggest complaint was this this four some that was 2 groups ahead. They played as if they were going to the PGA tour this week.. and could not play that well. And we had to wait and wait… 5 hours to finish because of this..
Fun, well-maintained course
Wescott is a little different because it’s actually three nine-hole courses and a round of 18 will be a combination of two of the courses. I’ve played all three and each is a little different from the others, but all are good. You won’t necessarily know which ones you’ll be assigned, and as in this last round they changed our back 9 assignment at the turn because the other one was backed up. I’m happy they did because we didn’t have to wait any on the other course. I can see how this might aggravate some people though. Bring your rangefinder or other distance guide for yardages because the carts don’t have the screens with that information like Manu places do now. Overall a great place to play. Highly recommend.
Will play here again
Love this course. Everyone was awesome , friendly. Course in great shape can’t wait to come back and play again. Challenging for sure esp the long par5 on Oak forest. Saw the alligator on the back nine par 3!
