Beautiful Course!
Loved this place. Played 18 with my brother-in-law on a family vacation. The layout is great, the overall conditions were great, the greens were perfect. Challenging course, but fair. My only complaint was that there wasn't a map of the holes on the scorecard to help a first timer, especially off the tees. Hit at least 3 tee shots into sort of blind areas without really knowing what was out there, and how far away, to avoid.
Good value
Great condition with nice layout. Pace was slow (4:20) for a Thursday afternoon with no cart restrictions. GolfNow price ( $59) was fair but wouldn’t pay more.
A challenging gem!
Layout is tough but fair, with a great variety of holes (those into the wind especially difficult). The greens are of ample speed, and the only criticism would be soggy fairways despite the lack of rain or hot weather.
I play Farmstead when I visit a friend in the area, and its allure "keeps me coming back for more".
Very nice course
Course was in great condition. I was paired up with a couple that were members. They were so accommodating and fun to play with. Greens were the best I have played on in this area. Would go back again.
Farmstead
Great course design. The fairways and green were in great shape. Our foursome took 3 hrs and 15 min. to play the round.
Great shape
The course was in great shape both fairways and greens. The pace of play was great. Our foursome took 3 hours and 20 min. I would definitely recommend this course.
Great course, pace of play not managed well.
Conditions on the course were great. The layout is challenging, but fair. Greens were nearly perfect. If I missed a putt, it was my fault. They rolled true and quick, but not fast. It had not rained in a couple of days, but many spots on the course were pretty wet. Don't know if they were watering a lot, or if they are always wet. We played preferred lies due to mud balls in the fairway.
Practice area was great and on the way the first tee, so very easy to stop off and hit a few and and putt before starting. 1st tee was also in view, so you could judge when to take off.
Pace of play on the front nine was excellent. We finished in 1:45 as a foursome. We hit 10 tee and it was stacked. Seems like they start on 1 & 10 tees. If that's not the case, then the ranger did a poor job on the slow play in front of us. Back nine was 2:45. By the time we got to #18 (par 6), we were just ready to get it over with.
SLOW
Front nine played in 1:45. Then hit wall on back nine. Took nearly 3 hours to play back nine. Mostly caused by sending folks off both sides. Course in good condition. Green were great. Slow play spoiled an otherwise good round
Great course... even in the rain
The course like every one I’ve played in the area this week is soggy. However, these are by far the best greens with the truest roll and speed.
There was a Marshall I saw about 4 times throughout the round. The pace never picked up, so I’m not sure what the deal was.
When it started raining steadily, the course vacated except for 2 foursomes that never even acknowledged me as a single.
The bag drop guy was amazing. Gave my sticks good attention and care, shared some local knowledge and was very personable.
Check in was a breeze.
I played “the tips” on the 18th. At 767 yards it was all I had in my bag to get there in 5...ended up with an 8 on that once in a lifetime long par 6 hole.
Definitely worth a play!
Nice course
Big fairways and greens, it's your fault if you miss them. 230yrd par 3 and the last hole is a 717 yrd par 6, what more could you ask for, maybe a cold beverage from the nice cart lady.
Great experience
Booked on golf now. Tees off at 2:00 as a single and had the course to myself. Course condition was great. Greens were exceptional. Definitely will bust again in the future.
Surprise Gamble
Need to play early and Farmstead was my only option and I didn’t know much about the course. So I took the gamble and I wasn’t disappointed. The course was in great shape and the greens were perfect and true. The staff at the bag drop were friendly and got us off quickly. We were the first group off and finished up in less than 4 hours and was back on the beach with the family for the afternoon. I will definitely be back to play this track again soon.
Nice track
A very nice layout. Was disappointed not to have refreshment cart thw entire back nine on Labor Day. With no on course water because of covid its important to offer playwrs fluid when its 90.degrees out there.
