What a dump
The greens were covered with weeds. One green had a trench in it about 12 inches wide probably from a mole that was there last year when I played. The bathrooms were disgusting and the sand traps had no sand in them, just mud. What a dump.
Eager beavers
Greens were really nice. Staff was over eager to help you with cart and club cleaning. Just a personal choice of mine, I want to take my time to gather up after a round, and I don’t like grown men scrambling for a tip. For example, we were on the green on 18 and I look over and some guy walked out on course and is wiping down our clubs. Go get em!
Asked for a ranger to check out the slow play. Couldn’t have cared less. Expect a 5 hour round
Great layout
The course has a great layout but needs some work. The traps need major work and really need to be manicured better!. I loved the layout and many different tees to play from! The course looks tired! Greens were ok . The first green needs work but the greens got better after that. Pace of play was excellent. Fairways were average.
One and done
Course was reasonably priced and had a tee time for a last second decision to play. Course had a starter and rangers so I assumed this mean pace of play would be enforced. Group play started out slow and assumed course was backed up. No big deal. The group directly in front of us left on the 3-4th hole because it was taking forever. Shortly after another group left behind us. Finally another group in front of us left. We catch up to a group of three around hole 6(yes this is how many people left in that time) 2 younger girls and a younger guy. They were goofing off, making videos, harassing the wildlife, etc. We finally made it to hole 9 after 3 1/2 hours. We figured they might leave after 9 so we played 2 balls a piece on 9 and lo and behold they’re on 10 messing with the alligators and making more videos. We ended up leaving as the ranger had passed numerous times and saw others leaving because of the same thing.
Needs work but good layout
The labour is good, The staff are great. The fairways are mostly good. Carts are excellent, seem new.
Lots of challenging bunkers, strategically placed. Unfortunately this course still needs a lot of work to bring it back to a top level.
1. All of the green tee boxes are in bad shape, other tee boxes probably as well. Need grass or newly laid turf.
2. Many of the greens have small tufts of abnormal grass scattered throughout the regular surface = bumpy.
3. Many of the cart paths need work to restore a smooth surface, most the result of tree root upheavals. The path near #7 tee has a particularly abrupt and jarring bump. A small backhoe and a few wagonloads of fine crushed rock (or new payment) could cure a lot.
The new owners have their work cut out for them. I wish them well. At current price I return a few times.
Several greens had huge sandy patch....and teeoff weren't cut
Nice course layout!
Overall not a bad course to play. Tee boxes needed quite a bit of attention, as well as greens. Still early in the season, but there is ample room for improvement. If conditions do improve this would be a solid **** course at $60.
Interesting course layout
Overall I'd consider Eagle Pointe to be a good value for the money. Greens and fairways were in reasonably good condition. Some of the greens had some weed issues, but they putted reasonably well. Many of the tee boxes needed help and most all of the traps lacked sand to allow for consistent play. If the green fee goes up my rating for the course would certainly be affected.
kind of dissapointed
some greens are in not such great shape. Lack of ranger led to some slow groups without much concern for course play. Waited for cart to arrive from a group finishing before we could start. Not what we expected unfortunately. Perhaps things change for the better soon.
Needs help
Decent layout but conditions less than avg. could
Be' much better w grass conditions and staffing.
Saw very few workers during our round. Advertised a free beer after golf but Thule bar was closed and it
was 4:14 !
Always a pleasant round
Tees for all skill levels. One of the best layouts in the area. Decent condition.
